FMS material sensors. Precision within 2 milliseconds.
The sensors can be easily and precisely aligned with the reference edge of the material using positioning marker. The factory calibrated sensors do not need to be calibrated before use. Different types and sizes can be combined with the entire range of FMS web guide controllers.
Function description of the ultrasonic sensor
The ultrasonic material sensor features a highly linear, state-of-the-art ultrasonic transmitter and receiver system. Signal generation and signal processing are controlled by an optimized process via a microprocessor. The short cycle time of 2 ms allows the use in very fast applications. The sensors can be easily and precisely positioned on the reference edge of the material by means of an LED. Power supply and analog output (0 to 10 VDC) meet the standards of the converting industry.
Function description of the optical sensor
The optical sensor features a linear, state-of-the-art transmitter and receiver system. The integrated light sources emit visible and infrared light. The CCD-based receiver module detects and images the material edge with high accuracy. Signal processing is carried out by an optimized process via a microprocessor. The short cycle time of 2 ms allows the use in very fast applications. Power supply and analog output comply with industry standards.
Function description of the digital sensor
The digital sensor features a state-of-the-art CCD array. This uses LEDs in different colors as well as the optimized DSP (Digital Signal Processing) algorithms guarantee a maximum of line illumination across the entire color spectrum and ensure high contrast in all color combinations. The sensor can be quickly and precisely positioned on the reference line or edge using a light spot and the built-in focus function. For easy recognition, the line or edge position is displayed on an LED display. During the calibration process, the line or edge characteristics are saved as a profile. These can be called up and activated immediately when the material is changed. A tilting mounting bracket facilitates positioning of the sensor and ensures optimum signal strength.
